This pattern is worked in rows and I use abbreviations according to US crochet language. The finished rose is approximately 2.75” (7cm) in diameter. This flower would be beautiful as a brooch or hair fascinator.

yarn needle
Yarn Needed:
DK acrylic yarn in any colour of your choice.
(Colours shown are: foxglove pink, lavender and lemon yellow.)
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
tr = treble crochet
sl st = slipstitch
[...] = repeat instructions in square brackets
sts = stitches
R = round or row
Pattern:
Make a slipknot and ch 61.
R1 - sc in second ch from hook and 59 sc. (60 sts)
R2 – Turn and ch 4.
2 tr in same space, [3 tr in next ch] x 19, [3 dc in next ch] x 16,
[3 hdc in next ch] x 12, [3 sc in next ch] x 12.
Fasten off. Starting with the thinner length in the centre, wind the length of crochet round and round to form the flower, sewing as you go to secure the flower shape.
