The Start of Something Big: Blanket Part 1

I am going to make myself a large blanket to wrap around myself when I feel cold, which is quite often in this chilly flat and country! I am quite a quirky character and so I have decided not to limit myself to one or even just a few patterns for the squares I will be using to make my blanket. I am just going to make whatever takes my fancy and then join them together. In the end it may look rather odd or just completely mad but each square will have something in it that I like and it will definitely not be boring.

I found the pattern on Ravelry and it was really simple to follow. It makes a twelve inch square with aran yarn. A rather pretty design I think.

So here's to the first square and the first day of what I think will be a very long project!
